What kind of setup are you using? Do you intiate setup through winnt.exe or winnt32.exe? Are you using nLite? Any other relevant information?

My process is as follows :

1) Use RVM_Integrator v1.2.2 to copy the source of the XP Corp (with SP2 already slipstreamed in) along with RVMUpdatePack2.0.7 and a bunch of Addons. Target dir is an empty dir (XP-Pro-July)

Build CDImage using XP-Pro-July and "Microsoft Corporation.img" boot. Test boot with VMWare - works fine.

2) nLite v1.0 RC3 to set up customizations. 1RC8 seemed to cause missing files here and there, while 1.0RC3 seems to be stable and clean. Source and Dest are set to the target dir XP-Pro-July

Build CDImage using XP-Pro-July and "Microsoft Corporation.img" boot. Test boot with VMWare - works fine.

3) Run DPs_Base against XP-Pro-July. Seems to run fine. DriverPacks=all, DPsMethod=2, finishMethod=RunOnceEx, KTD=all, QSC=yes

4) Copy over my own customized winnt.sif (corp key, workgroup, etc)

Build CDImage using XP-Pro-July and "Microsoft Corporation.img" boot. Test boot with VMWare - fails on copy of atiide.sys.

What would you like me to test/log etc ?

Update - RESOLVED I think.

I noticed that the files in question were lowercase. So I renamed atiide.sy_ to ATIIDE.SY_ and the next boot couldn't fine aliide.sys. I renamed that one to ALIIDE.SY_ and the boot is progressing just fine now.

I use CDIMAGEGUI to make the ISO images to work with, and I have the

Filesystem -d don't force lowercase names to uppercase

option turned on. It's never caused any problems before ... I notice that there are plenty of other files that are lowercase, and no errors on any of them.

I'll make those two files uppercase by default in the next update, then. Those two are the only two that are so called 'BusExtenders' and apparently Windows demands that they are uppercase... odd. Thanks for your detailed information!

Fixed in next version of DriverPack MassStorage.
