0000275: Installer can't find hdaudbus.sy_, corrupted svcpack.inf
"Please insert Microsoft UAA High Definition Audio disc 0000001 into CD-ROM drive". I get this message every time I install on a computer with HD Audio. I described this earlier in
http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=69975&pid=498804&st=0 [^]

I also think it's similar error to this
http://bugtracker.driverpacks.net/bug_view_page.php?bug_id=142 [^]

According to Bashrat guidelines i post a few versions of svcpack.inf. "orig" is original file, "out" is the same file converted by uni2ansi.exe (no error messages) and DP is final file after slipstreaming DP's. As you can see every is coded in different way and contents of the last one are little strange (some weird characters in the beginning, a few empty lines and two lines "KB888111.CAT" and "KB921401.CAT")
DriverPacks: all, but Mass Storage, newest releases.

Sorry, accidentally posted compressed version of "orig".

Hmmm... The DP version of svcpack.inf was never converted to ansi for some reason. You can see this by clicking Save As... and notice it is still in Unicode format.

@Siginet
Yes, file starts with unicode header, but the rest is pure ASCII. This is strange, because, as you can see, uni2ansi.exe converts original file with no problems.

Can you reproduce this?

Hi!

Yes, absolutely, I can reproduce this every time I use DP Base. I tried many times also from clean source - always the same. It only works if i manually unpack svcpack.in_ and convert it with uni2ansi.exe or create new one.

I have also small request related to this issue - it would be nice if there was an option (maybe not in GUI, but in ini file) to turn off integration of KB888111. Beside this problem I have another one with this patch and XP SP1 - as you probably know there is different version of KB888111 for SP1, so version supplied with DP Base doesn't work even if svcpack.inf is OK. I know it probably would be problematic to include two versions of this patch and SP1 isn't widely used these days (but I have to use it, because it's the only trial version I have), so with such option I (end everyone that wants to use SP1) could integrate patch myself.

Hi killgore, thank you for the response.

I accidentally deleted your original SVCPACK.INF file, could you please upload a fresh one so I can try to reproduce it again?

I will look into providing you with such an option. I can however give you a work-around already. If you simply create a dummy file (it can be empty):

I386\RVMUPPCK.INF

, then KB888111 won't be slipstreamed. Just delete the dummy file afterwards.
